Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi Oke has shared an uncommon insight into the generous side of colleague Funke Akindele, revealing how the actress reportedly supports people away from the public eye.
Oshodi Oke made the revelation during a podcast interview, a clip of which surfaced on Instagram on Thursday, August 27, 2026. According to her, Akindele may sometimes be difficult to reach by phone, but that does not stop her from showing up when someone is going through a difficult time.
“You might call Akindele and she will not answer, but when she hears that such a person has any problem, she will be there for the person,” Oshodi Oke said.
The actress went on to recount her own experience, revealing that Akindele came to her aid financially when she was ill. She described the assistance as significant enough to make her want to publicly acknowledge her colleague’s kindness.
Oshodi Oke, however, clarified that her praise for Akindele was not based on any previous professional relationship between them. She noted that Akindele had already demonstrated her generosity towards her even before she became sick.
According to her, Akindele is also not the type to publicise the people she helps. She claimed that the filmmaker has privately reached out to individuals she barely knows, including people who contacted her through Instagram, offering assistance without turning it into social media content.
Oshodi Oke also mentioned the illness of late actor Ogogo, saying she believed Akindele would have found a quiet way to support him during his difficult period.
“No one will go to Funke Akindele’s house crying and would leave the place still crying,” she said, stressing that the actress often finds ways to lift people’s spirits and put smiles on their faces.
