The Osun State Police Command has confirmed that a notorious member of the Aye confraternity, Adekunle Musibau aka “Oju Anu”, was shot dead in Osogbo by suspected members of a rival cult group.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, said preliminary investigations revealed the victim’s cult affiliation and that the attack was carried out by a rival group.
Ojelabi stated that Musibau was rushed to the hospital after he was shot but was confirmed dead on arrival.
He said the Area Commander immediately led a team to the Oke Ayepe area to commence investigation and track the perpetrators.

“The perpetrators have not been arrested, but the Divisional Police Officers have been directed to intensify efforts to arrest those behind it,” the PPRO said.
Ojelabi also dismissed claims by some APC supporters that the deceased was a member of their party.
The police said investigation is ongoing to apprehend those responsible and to prevent possible reprisal attacks in the area.
