“Their Problem Is That the Son of Nobody Was Invited” – VDM Fires Back at Femi Falana Over NBA Conference Invitatio

VeryDarkMan has fired back at human rights lawyer Femi Falana SAN after the senior lawyer questioned the decision by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to invite the controversial activist as a panelist at its 2026 Annual General Conference.

Falana, while commenting on VDM’s invitation, said the NBA used to invite individuals who had “paid their dues” and could intellectually engage lawyers.

“In those days, the NBA brought individuals who had paid their dues and were coming to engage lawyers intellectually. We wanted to learn from them, None of our conferences were like this in the past. If you are bringing an expert to discuss the security of the country, either from the private or public sector, such an individual must have contributed to the security architecture of the country. But when you bring people who have nothing to do with the security, they are now problems.”

Reacting to the statement, VeryDarkMan said he was disappointed by Falana’s reasoning, stressing that his disappointment was not because the lawyer failed to support his invitation.

“I was so disappointed after seeing Femi Falana SAN’s submission regarding my invitation to the 2026 NBA Conference. I’m not disappointed because he didn’t support me; I’m disappointed because of the pointless reason he gave for why I was invited. Their problem is that the son of nobody was invited.”

VDM’s response has since triggered mixed reactions on social media, with some users accusing him of twisting Falana’s position, while others defended the activist and agreed with his criticism.
