Transfer: ‘He’s a dangerous winger’ – Ex-Chelsea star, Cascarino names player Arsenal should sign
Former Chelsea forward, Tony Cascarino, has advised Arsenal to consider signing Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton this summer.
He stated that the Japanese winger would serve as a viable alternative to Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Junior.
The Gunners had expressed interest in signing Vinicius this summer. However, the Brazilian winger opted to extend his contract with Real Madrid for an additional six years.
Consequently, the Premier League club is now exploring other options. Players such as Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams have been mentioned as potential targets.
Nevertheless, Tony Cascarino is of the opinion that Arsenal should pursue Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton & Hove Albion.
He said on talkSPORT, “If he were slightly younger and had not suffered from numerous injuries, I would seriously consider him. I believe Mitoma has been Brighton’s standout player; he possesses remarkable talent.
“He had a challenging season last year, plagued by injuries. He managed to score three goals in the league for Brighton during that time.
“However, he is a formidable winger who consistently seeks to take on defenders. Arsenal has sufficient depth in that position, so, yes, I would advocate for his signing.”
Mitoma made his move to Brighton from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 and has since recorded 23 goals and 11 assists in 113 appearances for the Seagulls.
Unfortunately, last season, he encountered several injury setbacks, limiting him to just 19 Premier League starts, where he netted three goals and provided one assist.
