Troops Kill 102 Terrorists, Arrest 345, Rescue 393 Victims In July — DHQ

ABUJA – The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said troops of the Armed Forces (ARM) of Nigeria have killed 102 terrorists, arrested 345 and rescued 393 kidnap victims in the month of July. Additionally, it noted that 57 insurgents surrendered to troops, while 59 arms and 1,811 rounds of ammunition were recovered.

Addressing newsmen on Friday, at the Defence Headquarters, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja stated that the operational record for the month of July stands as compelling testimony to the sustained resolve of the AFN to ensure a secure environment for socio-economic stability and peace to thrive in our country.

Major General Onoja also disclosed that the overall successes recorded in the fight against crude oil theft has continued to frustrate the activities of economic saboteurs.

“On the whole, the AFN has significantly degraded the capabilities of criminals and terrorists across the nation.”

According to him, the AFN sustained operations during the month of July in furtherance of its constitutional mandate to protect lives, property and the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

Acting in collaboration with other security agencies and local groups, he reiterated that troops recorded notable successes across the operational theatres in the various geopolitical zones.
