Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that the United States Government has contacted him following his concerns about the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
The singer had earlier called on US President Donald Trump to pay attention to the situation in Osun, expressing concerns over the possibility of violence, intimidation and other actions that could affect the credibility of the electoral process.
Following his appeal, Davido took to X to announce that the US Government had reached out to him. However, he did not reveal the identity of the officials who contacted him or disclose the details of their response.
Sharing the update on his X account, the singer wrote:
“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something.”
Davido did not provide any additional explanation about the communication or indicate what action, if any, the US Government intends to take regarding the concerns surrounding the Osun election.
The development comes as political activities intensify ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
