Undocumented Immigrant in US Reveals How Being White Made Life Easier Compared to Blacks and Latinas
A white undocumented immigrant has gone viral for pointing out the difference in how immigrants are treated in the United States of America based on their race.
Katya Suvorora, originally from Russia, said “being white made everything so much easier, including poverty.”
She shared how her mother was able to get better jobs than her Latina and Black counterparts, how her mother switched tags on clothes in the store so she could get more expensive clothes at the price of cheaper ones, and how the police never asked for their papers because they just imagined they belonged in the US.

She wrote in the caption: “Being white made everything so much easier, including poverty.
“We had so many more opportunities because of our skin color. I know this because I get a lot of comments like “you don’t look like an undocumented immigrant??” Well, I was. & being white got us documented & out of poverty.”

She added that being white also gave her family connections that got them put of poverty.
Sharing slides explaining this, she wrote: “I’ve learned connections get you out of poverty more than ANYTHING else!! look we went from having NOTHING to graduating with university degrees in the U.S. It was hard & honestly there’s a lot here I would not recommend. I have a lot of trauma. but money does make life easier.
