Yahaya Bello Applauds Tinubu, Ribadu Over Security Gains

Former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for what he described as the significant gains recorded in the fight against insecurity across the country.

Bello gave the commendation after a meeting with Ribadu at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja, where he praised the federal government’s security strategy and the growing synergy among the nation’s security agencies.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the former governor said the recent foiling of an attempted abduction of schoolchildren in Kogi State demonstrated the effectiveness of intelligence-led security operations. He attributed the successful intervention to improved coordination, professionalism and vigilance by security agencies.

“I want to commend Mr President for his relentless efforts in tackling insecurity across the nation. I also commend the National Security Adviser and our security agencies for the recent foiling of an attempted abduction of schoolchildren in Kogi State. It is clear evidence that intelligence-driven security operations are yielding positive results,” Bello said.

He also praised the Tinubu administration and the NSA for the successful rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State, describing the operation as another indication of the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property. Bello paid tribute to security personnel who lost their lives during the rescue mission, saying their sacrifice reflected unwavering dedication to national service.

Responding, Ribadu thanked the former governor for the visit and emphasised that addressing insecurity requires the collective efforts of government, security agencies and citizens. He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information to sustain the momentum in the fight against criminality.

Bello expressed confidence that the ongoing security reforms and strengthened collaboration among security and intelligence agencies under President Tinubu’s leadership would continue to enhance national security and lay a solid foundation for lasting peace and development.
