2027: ADC Campaign Council appoints Diala as spokesperson

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has appointed Dr Uche Diala as a spokesperson for the 2027 presidential election on 26 September 2026.

Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, approved the appointment to communicate the campaign vision to citizens across Nigeria.

Diala accepted the position to challenge the current government administration and promote economic recovery plans.

Reason for Campaign Council appointment

Diala accepted the offer to serve as campaign spokesperson due to ongoing economic difficulties and social challenges across the country. He cited high costs at fuel pumps, markets, grocery stores, pharmacies, and farms as primary reasons for taking the role.

Diala stated that citizens face severe hardship, security threats, and poor policy implementation under the current government administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

Dr Uche Diala is now a official spokesperson for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council 2027.

Atiku selected Diala to lead public communications for his presidential campaign.

The ADC plans to contest the 2027 presidential election against the current ruling administration.

Diala stated that the campaign will focus on policy issues, facts, and economic plans.

Atiku economic plan and alternative solutions

Diala outlined the specific governance plans that Atiku proposes to address national economic challenges. He stated that Atiku offers practical policies based on decades of public service and private sector experience.

The campaign strategy includes providing production subsidies to support businesses and improve the overall national economy. The policy plan also targets reforms in security, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.

Diala explained that these economic plans underwent multiple peer reviews to ensure immediate relief for citizens. He noted that the campaign intends to create lasting economic balance across all regions rather than benefiting a small group of people.

Campaign communication strategy

The spokesperson declared that the ADC campaign will avoid political insults, name calling, and personal abuses during election preparations. He stated that personal attacks distract voters from practical solutions and clear governance facts.

Diala called on Nigerian citizens to view themselves as voluntary spokespersons for national recovery. He stated that public participation remains necessary to achieve political change and improve government performance.

“As spokespersons, we are not interested in name calling and abuses – which only serve to distract and deflect from the real issues. We are going to continue to stay focused on the issues, facts, truths and plans and to preach the sermon of common sense governance,” Diala said.
