Popular Nigerian comedian, Otaghware Onodjayeke, widely known as I Go Save, has weighed in on the country’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the contest as a battle between the “poor” and the “paid poor.”
The comedian made the remark in a post shared on his social media page, where he expressed concern over the role of financial inducement in influencing political choices among voters.
According to I Go Save, the outcome of elections is often shaped not only by economic hardship but also by individuals who, despite facing similar challenges, are willing to defend politicians in exchange for financial benefits.
“2027 election is between the poor and the paid poor,” he wrote.
His comment has since ignited online opinion, with supporters and critics offering differing interpretations of the statement as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the next presidential election.
