Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, have congratulated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday.
In separate statements, the governors commended the First Lady’s public service record and her contributions to national development.
Governor Adeleke described Senator Tinubu as an example of dedication to public service and nation-building, recalling their time together in the Nigerian Senate.
According to Adeleke, she distinguished herself through legislative contributions and advocacy for women, young people and inclusive governance.
The Osun governor also praised her role as First Lady, saying she had demonstrated a spirit of inclusiveness by bringing Nigerians together across political divides.
Adeleke described her as “an inclusive nation-builder and a mother to all” and prayed for many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment as she continues to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the service of Nigeria.
Similarly, Governor Oyebanji said Senator Tinubu’s 66th birthday provided an opportunity to celebrate her contributions and legacy.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor described her as the “Mother of the Nation”, saying her compassion had positively affected the lives of many Nigerians since she became First Lady in 2023.
“Senator Tinubu has acquitted herself well in her role as the Mother of the Nation and her compassion has given succour and positively changed the lives of many Nigerians since she became First Lady in 2023,” Oyebanji said.
He also described her as a pillar of support for President Tinubu and praised her contributions through the Renewed Hope Initiative, particularly in education, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of vulnerable Nigerians.
Oyebanji noted that beneficiaries of the initiative in Ekiti State included students who received scholarships and laptop computers, female farmers who received financial support and farming inputs, as well as widows and senior citizens who benefited from food items and cash grants.
He also highlighted the ICT Centre facilitated for Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, under the initiative.
The governor recalled Senator Tinubu’s recent visit to Ekiti State, where thousands of traders were empowered and the ICT Centre was inaugurated.
Oyebanji described her as a friend and supporter of Ekiti State and prayed for her continued good health, long life and fulfilment.
