“After All They’ve Gone Through, They Still Let Themselves Be Used” – VeryDarkMan Speaks On Benue Youths

Social commentator VeryDarkMan has criticised the state of affairs in Benue State, blaming bad leadership, tribalism and internal divisions for the state’s poverty.
According to him, Benue people are not lazy but have remained poor because of what he described as poor leadership over the years.
He said, “Benue State is one of the poorest states in Nigeria 🇳🇬, but Benue people aren’t lazy; they are poor. The reason why Benue State is poor is because they have had bad leaders taking over their state for the longest time, along with tribalism.”
VeryDarkMan also alleged that ethnic divisions exist within the state, particularly among the Tiv people.
He said, “Even among the Tiv people, they are still divided. These people @ttack themselves and then hide it under Fulani people. A lot of things are going on in Benue State.”
He further argued that the Tiv have dominated political leadership in the state, while Idoma and Igede communities have allegedly struggled to gain access to leadership.
He said, “It is the Tiv people who have taken over the state for the longest time. They don’t even allow the Idoma people to rule, and even the Igede, who are the minority, don’t get to see anything.”
The social commentator also questioned the ability of Benue residents to unite over issues affecting the state, accusing them of coming together politically to support the APC while failing to show the same unity over insecurity and development.
He added, “They have been unl!v!ng Benue State people, but they can’t come together as one to make sure they better their state. Yet, you people came together to support APC and fight.”
