The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, has described himself as the “beautiful bride” among the three major contenders for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Adegoke made the assertion during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, while comparing his candidacy with those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Action Peoples Movement (APM).
He said the APC and APM candidates were “tainted” by what he described as controversies surrounding their respective parties.
According to him, the APM candidate is being affected by the perception that the party’s “Omi Tutu 3.0” slogan represents a continuation of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and could be interpreted as a bid by the governor to secure a third term.
“For me, God is my forefather,” Adegoke said, explaining that his candidacy was not tied to any political godfather.
He also identified what he described as the APC’s internal crisis and the issue of godfatherism as factors affecting the party’s candidate.
“Of all the three major candidates from the major parties in Oyo State — APC, APM and ADC — I am the beautiful bride; the other two are tainted,” he said.
Adegoke emerged as the ADC governorship candidate after the party’s May 2026 primary, where r he pulled 16,051 votes.
