National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said Nigerians benefiting from President Bola Tinubu’s policies will support his bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
This is even as the party passed vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima as well as all the party candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Briefing journalists on the outcome of the party’s three day retreat , Yilwatda said labourers, market women, food sellers, vendors, drivers plying roads constructed under President Tinubu’s administration and beneficiaries of social intervention and human capital programmes would support the President.
At the APC National Strategic Retreat, themed “Strengthening Party Organization, Unity and Electoral Readiness Towards 2027,” held in Maiduguri, from Thursday, 24th to Saturday, 26th September 2026, the Party’s National Working Committee, under the chairmanship of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, is joined by State Chairmen and other invited stakeholders of the Party’s core structure from across the 36 states.
Discussions at the strategic retreat are focused on reviewing and strengthening the Party’s activities, structures and electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 campaigns and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the election of other APC candidates
Further speaking, the APC National Chairman noted that Nigerians were enjoying the core policies of the Tinubu administration, particularly macroeconomic restructuring, infrastructure expansion and social interventions under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Those that are working and benefiting from President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda policies will vote for him in 2027, including labourers, mama food sellers, vendors and drivers plying roads constructed by President Tinubu,” Yilwatda said.
He said the retreat showed that the APC was “strong and healthy” ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that the party had passed a vote of confidence in its presidential candidate and his running mate.
Yilwatda urged the party leadership at the state and local government levels to constitute reconciliation committees to resolve internal differences and work towards the party’s success in the forthcoming election.
He said the APC had reviewed its performance in recent elections and was impressed by the results, particularly its victories in Enugu and other states.
He commended Nigerians for their support for the party and the government over the last three years and called on party members and supporters to back the APC in 2027, saying the President deserved a second term.
Yilwatda also condoled with the people of Niger State over the death of 37 minners in a recent incident and commended the Borno State Government and its people for hosting the three-day retreat
