President Bola Tinubu’s Political Adviser, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has dismissed former Vice President ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Masari described Atiku’s presidential ambition as a joke, arguing that desperation would not help him achieve his political objective.
He spoke while addressing members of the Jigawa State Academics Forum.
“Even Atiku himself knows he is just joking and kidding,” Masari said.
The presidential adviser also described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Nigeria’s dominant political party and framed the 2027 election as a choice between continuing the Tinubu administration’s programmes and returning to the opposition.

He cited infrastructure development, economic diversification, security and poverty reduction as areas the administration was prioritising.
Masari also commended the Jigawa State Academics Forum for endorsing President Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for another term.
His comments come amid preparations by political parties and prospective candidates for the 2027 general elections, with Atiku among opposition figures seeking to challenge the APC at the polls.
