The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (BSCSC) has terminated the appointment of Abdulkadir B. Aliyu, a Higher Fire Superintendent with the State Fire Service, over alleged theft and other acts of misconduct.
Aliyu, who is attached to the State Fire Service Division of the Ministry of Works and Transport, was found guilty of stealing people’s shoes during prayers at the Central Mosque of the Abubakar Umar Secretariat, Bauchi.
The decision was taken during the Commission’s 32nd plenary session, according to a statement issued by the commission’s information officer, Saleh Umar.
The Commission said Aliyu’s appointment was terminated after all disciplinary procedures prescribed by the rules and regulations of the Bauchi State Public Service Rules (PSR) had been followed.
According to the statement, the offence contravened Rule 0312 (ix and xii) of the PSR on misconduct.
The Commission also noted that Aliyu had previously been issued a strong warning letter on September 29, 2025, for absconding from his duty post and had been charged with negligence of duty under Rule 0312, Item 4 of the State PSR.
Meanwhile, members of the Commission commended its Permanent Secretary and Scribe, Alhaji Yakubu Bello, for his dedication and commitment to duty.
They applauded his efforts in handling administrative matters and contributing to the development and smooth running of the Commission’s activities.
The chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, reiterated his commitment to upholding the integrity of the Commission by ensuring strict adherence to rules and regulations.
He also warned civil servants in the state against engaging in acts of misconduct in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
