CCTV Captures Shoplifter Hiding Bottle Of Wine He Stole In His Boxers At A Supermarket

A man’s brazen shoplifting spree has taken an unexpected twist after he was caught red-handed stealing clothes at a boutique, only for the owner to discover the bottle of wine hidden in the suspect’s trousers had actually been stolen earlier from his own wife’s supermarket.

CCTV footage from the supermarket first captured the man slipping a bottle of wine off the shelf and concealing it down his trousers before casually walking out, seemingly confident his theft had gone unnoticed.

According to the account, this was only the beginning of his outing that day.

Minutes later, he reportedly made his way to a nearby boutique, apparently attempting to repeat the same trick with a selection of clothing items.

This time, however, luck was not on his side. The boutique owner caught him in the act before he could make his exit, bringing his attempted theft to an abrupt halt.

It was during the ensuing confrontation that the full extent of his spree came to light. While searching him, the boutique owner discovered the bottle of wine tucked in his trousers and, upon closer inspection, realised it matched stock from his own wife’s supermarket, meaning the same man had unknowingly targeted two businesses run by the same family within a short span of time.

The coincidence has since made the story a popular talking point online, with many finding it almost poetic that the suspect’s attempt to expand his shoplifting run ended up exposing his earlier theft as well.
