“Cleaning Job Abroad Is Better Than Office Work In Ghana” – Ghanaian In UK sparks debate

A Ghanaian living in the United Kingdom has sparked a conversation online after sharing his brief interaction with another Ghanaian working as a cleaner at a shop.

According to him, the conversation highlighted the difference in earnings and working conditions that some Ghanaians experience when they move abroad, even when they take up jobs that may be viewed differently back home.

The Ghanaian noted that, based on his experience and the conversation, working as a cleaner in the UK could be financially better than having an office job in Ghana.

“A cleaning job abroad is far better working in an office in Ghana,” he said.

The comment has attracted attention online, with many people discussing the realities faced by Ghanaians who travel abroad in search of better opportunities.

For some, jobs such as cleaning may not carry the same social status as office-based employment in Ghana, but the difference in wages and purchasing power can make such work attractive to migrants.
