An emotional moment has unfolded after Ghana’s Black Stars suffered a painful 4–2 defeat to The Gambia in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A staunch supporter of the national team was captured shedding tears following the final whistle, visibly devastated by the result.
The supporter, who had turned up at the stadium to cheer the Black Stars, struggled to hide his emotions as Ghana surrendered a two-goal lead and eventually lost the match.
Ghana started the game strongly, with Ernest Nuamah and Felix Afena-Gyan finding the back of the net to give the Black Stars a 2–0 advantage.
The Gambia, however, mounted a comeback before the end of the first half before completing the turnaround after the break.
The defeat left several Ghanaian supporters at the stadium heartbroken, with some expressing their frustration and disappointment over the team’s performance.
A video of the emotional supporter has since surfaced on social media, where his tears have drawn reactions from fellow football fans who could relate to his disappointment.
The result has also triggered widespread reactions among Ghanaian supporters, who had hoped to see the Black Stars secure a positive result on home soil.
