EPL: Man Utd player Guardiola wanted to sign for City revealed

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola would have signed Marcus Rashford if he had the chance.

Giggs was speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast.

According to the Welshman, he met Guardiola at dinner, where they discussed several football-related topics.

Giggs said: “I’ve gone to Pep and said, ‘You know, who do you like at United?’ He went, ‘Well, who do you think?’

“So I went, ‘De Gea?’ He went, ‘No. Luke Shaw?’ I was just like, ‘No.’

“He said the best player at Man United, Marcus Rashford. I would take him tomorrow. And that just made me [think], ‘What’s he seeing, Pep?’ And that was obviously as a centre-forward.”
