A Magistrate Court sitting in Aba South, Abia State, has convicted and sentenced Iheanacho Emenike to three years in prison for impersonating a lawyer.
The court found Emenike guilty of the three counts brought against him and handed down separate sentences for each offence.
On Count One, he was sentenced to one year imprisonment, while Count Two attracted two years. He received another three-year prison term on Count Three.
The court ordered that the sentences run concurrently, meaning Emenike will effectively serve a maximum of three years in prison.
The court also ruled that there would be no option of a fine.
The conviction has sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians joking about the case while others raised concerns about people practising professions without the required qualifications.
