Fight Breaks Between Two Police Officers In front Of Civilians At Roadside As Senior Officer Arrests MTTD Officer Over Alleged Extortion Of Trotro Drivers

A dramatic scene has unfolded on a busy road after a senior Ghana Police Service officer moved to arrest a Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) officer accused of unlawfully collecting money from trotro drivers.

In the video, the senior officer is seen instructing the MTTD officer to get into a nearby trotro so he could be conveyed to the station for questioning over the allegations.

Rather than comply, the MTTD officer pushed back against the order, sparking a tense standoff between the two that quickly drew the attention of passersby.

The disagreement escalated to the point where it nearly turned physical, with both officers exchanging words in what onlookers described as an uncomfortably heated confrontation between colleagues meant to be enforcing the same laws.

Bystanders looked on in visible surprise as the drama played out in broad daylight.

The commotion forced the trotro at the centre of the extortion allegations to pull over and remain parked longer than intended, inconveniencing its passengers, many of whom were in a hurry and had to quickly find alternative transport to continue their journeys.

As the standoff dragged on, the parked vehicle began causing a ripple effect on the road, with other motorists honking impatiently and urging the driver to move aside and clear the way.

The episode has since stirred conversation online around accountability within the ranks of officers meant to regulate road transport across the country.
