“He Said He Wouldn’t Take Care Of Me If I Had C-Section” – Woman Recalls Ex-Husband’s Warning During Labour

A Nigerian woman, Chinonso Onuoha, has recounted an experience from her past marriage, alleging that her ex-husband mistreated her during childbirth.
The mother of two shared the experience in a Facebook post on Friday, September 25, 2026, explaining that her ex had warned her beforehand not to accept an epidural during labour.
According to her, she followed his instruction even after doctors told her she had dilated enough to receive one.
She claimed he later became angry when she began screaming and crying because of the pain and warned her that he would not take care of her if she eventually underwent a C-section.
She wrote:
“He had warned me beforehand not to accept an epidural, so when the doctor told me I had dilated enough to be given one, I said no.
“When I was in pain and screaming and crying, he got really mad at me and warned me that if they performed a C-section, he wouldn’t take care of me.
“When I told him in Igbo that I was tired, he got even more upset and said, ‘If they hear you saying that and perform a C-section.’”
Onuoha further claimed that after she successfully gave birth, she asked her ex-husband for a hug, but he refused.
“After I had my baby, I begged him for a hug, and he said no.”
Her account has since sparked reactions online, with some social media users discussing the importance of emotional and physical support for women during childbirth.
