Nigerian Afrobeats star Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has revealed that the death of his mother was behind his recent break from music activities.
The singer made the disclosure on Friday while responding to a fan on X who had assumed that his absence was connected to preparations for a new album.
Kizz Daniel, also known as Vado D’Great, explained that he stepped away from music following the loss, saying he had to keep moving for the rest of his family.
“I paused for my Mom not an album … Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family … sorry I came late this year,” he wrote.
The revelation comes as the singer prepares to return to the music scene with his forthcoming album, Radio Gidi, which is scheduled for release on October 16.
Kizz Daniel had already begun his return with new music as he prepared to resume activities after the difficult period.
His disclosure has now provided a personal explanation for his reduced activity, as fans and followers continue to react to the news of his loss.
Despite the bereavement, Kizz Daniel said he has to keep moving for his family as he prepares to continue his music career.
