According to Mr Macaroni, the threats became serious enough to affect his family’s sense of safety.
“I stopped talking about the government because I was receiving so many threats, and my family wasn’t safe. My mom would call me crying that there is strange movements around the house. They wanted to fly me out, but I said, ‘No, I’m staying.’”
He said the situation became particularly worrying because his mother would contact him in distress over what she described as strange movements around their home.
Mr Macaroni added that some people suggested taking him out of the country for his safety, but he declined and chose to remain in Nigeria.
