“If Hausa And Yoruba Have Seaports And Embassies, Igbo Should Too” – Odumeje Demands Equal Facilities For Southeast

- Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has called for equal access to major infrastructure and national facilities across Nigeria.
- He specifically demanded seaports, an international airport and visa-processing facilities for the Southeast, arguing that such equality would demonstrate genuine unity in the country.
Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has called for equal access to major national infrastructure and facilities for the Southeast, insisting that such fairness is necessary for genuine unity in Nigeria.
The cleric said the Southeast should have access to facilities similar to those available in other parts of the country, including seaports, international airports and foreign embassies providing visa services.
He said, “If Hausa people have a seaport, we have a seaport. Yoruba have seaport, we have a seaport. That is what they call one Nigeria.”
Odumeje also demanded an international airport for the Southeast, saying, “If Hausa people have international airport, Yoruba have international airport. Igbo people will have their own international airport. That is what they call one Nigeria.”
Speaking about embassies and visa services, he added, “If Hausa people have embassies, Yoruba people have embassies where they go and get visas. Igbo people will have their own embassies where they go and get visa.”
The cleric described the situation as unfair and expressed disappointment with Igbo elites for failing to speak publicly about what he considered an unequal distribution of facilities.
He said, “It’s an insult to all the elites of Igboland. And it showing that, is an insult to the entire Igbo generation. No public talking about it.”
Odumeje further stated, “That is not one Nigeria. That is what they call deceive and lie.”
He added, “We are no more a boy. We are fathers,” while urging leaders to consider the challenges younger generations may face in the future.
