Senator Victor Umeh has raised concerns over the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) planned deployment of artificial intelligence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Umeh reportedly expressed reservations about the use of AI in conducting elections, warning that it could make the electoral process vulnerable to manipulation.

“If INEC uses artificial intelligence to conduct elections, the chances are that everything you’re going to do will be manipulated,” Umeh said.
