Apostle Michael Olowookere has called on Nigerian Christians to become more involved in politics while publicly declaring his support for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking on the political situation in Nigeria, Olowookere said Christians should pay closer attention to government and participate actively in elections instead of viewing politics as something evil.

He also criticized tribalism and said his support for Obi was based on what he believed the former Anambra governor had achieved.

“I am publicly declaring my support for him because if Tinubu returns in 2027, what we are seeing now is just shege; banza will follow if he wins again.

“Tribalism is what has kept us where we are today. I am a Yoruba man, he is Igbo, but I am supporting him because of what he has done.”

The cleric also urged Nigerians to be vigilant during the 2027 election and called on voters to defend their votes, saying, “As we are going to vote, we should be prepared to d!e with our vote. If th¥gs come with sticks, we should go with sticks too. We have to defend our votes by all means.”
