A lady has shared her personal experience of getting married at the age of 19 without her parents’ approval, encouraging young people to stand by their decisions when they are certain about the choices they have made.

She explained that although her parents did not support her decision at the time, she went ahead with the marriage because she loved the man and believed she was mature enough to make the choice herself.

She said: “Just do you, your parents will adjust, because life didn’t end when I got married at 19 without my parents’ approval because I loved the man and was old enough to make decisions for myself.”
