Kylie Jenner Gives Rare Look Inside $15M ‘Dream Home’ She’s Been Building For Six Years

Kylie Jenner has finally given fans a closer look at the sprawling California estate she’s spent about six years building. The beauty mogul purchased the five-acre property in 2020 for $15 million, but construction on her Italian-inspired dream home is still underway. Jenner documented her latest visit to the site in a six-minute YouTube video, revealing the progress made and some of the deeply personal details she has incorporated into the design.

Jenner began the video by acknowledging just how long she has been working on the custom estate. “I’m going to go to my construction site. I have been building a house for like six years. I bought the property in 2020,” she told her 12.1 million YouTube subscribers.

The reality star admitted she had initially planned to keep the project private. However, extensive coverage of the construction apparently persuaded her to offer followers an authorized look.

She described the property as “my beautiful dream Italian home” and explained that she changed her mind about documenting it because “it’s kind of already all over the internet anyway.”

Although some reports have described the property as being in Calabasas, public reporting places the five-acre lot in nearby Hidden Hills, an exclusive gated community popular among celebrities. Architectural Digest reported in 2020 that Jenner paid $15 million in cash for the undeveloped parcel. The land had previously belonged to Miley Cyrus, but Cyrus sold it to another owner in 2018, before Jenner purchased it.

Jenner showed viewers several design elements for the property, including reclaimed cobblestone at the entrance. Olive trees and lavender line the driveway, helping create the rustic Italian aesthetic she envisioned. The Kylie Cosmetics founder also revealed that she hired landscape designer Jim Hyatt, who is known for his work at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara.

Inside, the mansion includes reclaimed wood floors, stone flooring, wooden kitchen cabinetry, and an old brick fireplace. Jenner also displayed marble finishes in one guest bathroom and vintage tiles in another suite.

The estate is not yet finished, with several design decisions still waiting for Jenner’s approval. During the video, she considered different paint colors as she walked through the construction site.

Jenner explained that she had completed a day of meetings around 3 p.m. before traveling to the property to handle additional “approvals.”

Some of the olive trees on the grounds came from Kylie’s older sister, Kendall Jenner. According to the entrepreneur, Kendall was completing construction at one of her own properties and no longer needed several young olive trees. “Not only are they so beautiful, it reminds me of my sister,” Kylie said.

Kylie has also shared occasional previews of the construction process on social media. In February, she posted footage of an unfinished utility space and wrote, “Yummy laundry room happening.”

While the six-year timeline may appear unusually long, the property is far more ambitious than a conventional residential build. Plans reported by Architectural Digest included an approximately 18,000-square-foot main residence, a separate guesthouse, a barn, a sports court, a swimming pool and a garage capable of accommodating 12 vehicles.

Jenner’s vision extends well beyond the mansion itself. The outdoor area is expected to include a rose garden, a gravel sports court, and a dining space featuring a fountain and pizza oven.

The video did not disclose a firm completion date.

The Property Is Part Of Her Extensive Real Estate Portfolio

Earlier this year, Jenner listed two Los Angeles properties while continuing work on the Hidden Hills estate. Her property investments have been funded partly by the success of Kylie Cosmetics, which she launched as a teenager.

The brand quickly became a major force in the beauty industry and helped Jenner build a business identity outside her family’s reality television empire.
