A landlord has reportedly helped his neighbour acquire his first piece of land after advising him to use his house rent for the purchase.
According to a social media post shared by X user Ebun, the tenant had lived in the compound for nine years. When his rent expired, he reportedly went to meet the landlord to make arrangements for another year.
Instead of collecting the rent, the landlord asked him what was making him feel comfortable in the compound.
The tenant reportedly replied, “Peace of mind.”
The landlord then asked whether he owned land. When the tenant said no but explained that he was working towards buying one, the landlord offered him an unexpected suggestion.
“Don’t work towards it. Use this rent for the tenth year to buy the land. Then come and show me the receipt and documents,” the landlord reportedly told him.
The tenant followed the advice and, according to …, bought his first piece of land the following day.
