The family of late Nollywood actress and producer Temitope Osoba has announced a new date for her burial, weeks after her earlier funeral plans were postponed indefinitely.
The new funeral arrangements were disclosed in an obituary published on the actress’ Instagram page on Monday.
Osoba, a Yoruba actress and filmmaker, died in August 2026 at the age of 40. Her death came after nearly two decades of involvement in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
According to the obituary, her remains will be taken from Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am on Thursday, September 10. A burial service will then be held from 10am to 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.
The family stated, “Burial service Thursday 10th of September, 10:00am–11:00am, Akesan Club opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.”
The obituary further revealed that her interment would take place immediately after the burial service at Iperu Remo Cemetery. Mourners have also been asked to appear in white attire.
Osoba had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer. In August 2025, she announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting.
Following her death, however, different accounts reportedly emerged concerning the events surrounding her final moments. Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, and some members of her family were said to have presented varying accounts of what happened before her death.
The development prompted actor Yomi Fabiyi to call for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding the actress’ death. In response, Osoba’s family urged the public to refrain from circulating claims that had not been verified.
Her funeral was originally scheduled for August 13 but was later postponed indefinitely. The family has now fixed Thursday, September 10, for the actress’ burial and final rites.
