Meghan Markle Goes Low-Key At A-List Favorite Soho Farmhouse Amid ‘Disappointing’ UK Reception

Meghan Markle made a quiet appearance at a celebrity favorite spot in the countryside.
The Duchess of Sussex was seen out and about for an early morning coffee in the exclusive Soho Farmhouse retreat, fuelling speculation that their UK home could be in the area.
This sighting comes after reports of Meghan Markle having second thoughts about her decision to move back to the UK after “Megxit” six years ago. The mom of two reportedly feels unwelcome on British soil by members of the royal circle.
Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have kept most details of their relocation back to the UK under wraps, especially for security reasons. The location of their new home remains undisclosed, seemingly for privacy reasons, as do the schools where their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are enrolled for the next academic year.
There have been speculations, however, about where the Sussexes plan to pitch their tent, while it has been confirmed that they are still holding on to their Montecito home. Making the top of the list was the Cotswolds, and with Meghan recently spotted in the area, speculation may soon become fact.
Members of the luxury countryside retreat Soho Farmhouse have said they have seen the “Suits” actress arrive for an early-morning coffee. The Guardian shared that according to Tom Sykes, a correspondent for The Royalist, Meghan was seen arriving at the Comfy Farm Lounge before 9 a.m., where she was introduced to senior staff members by name.
This further sparks speculation that the couple was settling down in the exclusive countryside district of north Oxfordshire. Soho Farmhouse is reportedly a favorite venue for A-list stars, including Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Tom Cruise, and Kate Moss.
Prince Harry And Meghan Are On Top Of Their Privacy Game
5Meghan likely went to the Soho Farmhouse, taking comfort in the policy that strictly forbids taking pictures inside any of its venues. It also recently announced it had banned Meta glasses over privacy fears. The luxury retreat spot also screens out many members of the public with its $440.19 (£325) monthly membership fee.
In Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” he wrote that Soho House on Dean Street was “[Meghan’s] headquarters whenever she came to London.” He also revealed that “Sometimes she just left her luggage at Soho House for weeks. They stored it without question. The people there were like family.”
Notably, the parents of two do not show their children’s faces on social media, and they have reportedly taken steps to ensure their privacy is not breached at their new British school.
Parents at a school in the Cotswolds have disclosed that they were sent letters reminding them to respect the privacy of other children and parents, stressing that they are not to take pictures or share any information about others there.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Did Not Receive A Warm Welcome Upon UK Return
5The Blast shared that Meghan and Harry were not greeted with flowers upon their return to the UK with their kids. Certain senior members of the royal family have reportedly also treated them with the cold shoulder, making the actress feel unwelcome.
Right after the family of four landed, King Charles reportedly “hot-footed it off to Scotland.” That probably innocent trip did not “exactly send a warm welcome” to Harry and Meghan.
A source who spoke to news outlets said of Meghan, “She wasn’t expecting a tea party or anything official, but it would’ve been nice to have some sort of signal from Charles that he was happy to have his son and grandchildren back in town.”
The insider continued, saying that the TV personality did not have high hopes for a warm reception upon their return to British soil; however, it was still a low blow for them. “It’s what Meghan expected, but it’s still a huge disappointment because Harry has been promising her it would be so much different.”
Adjusting To Their New Normal Has Been Challenging For The Couple
5Things are reportedly not going smoothly for Meghan and Harry with their relocation. Besides the issue of not feeling welcomed with open arms by the royal family, there are hurdles with moving the entire family across continents.
Sources who spoke to media outlets revealed that the logistics and eight-hour time difference have created additional complications with maintaining their commitments in the United States. The couple now have to squeeze work calls and conversations with the people handling their California residence into awkward windows.
An earlier report from The Blast explained that the L.A. native is “understandably pretty anxious” about what awaits them and is “already wondering if this was a mistake.”
They have also faced the financial burden of the relocation. This includes everything from their flight fees to maintaining their lifestyle as private citizens and still holding on to their properties overseas.
Meghan Markle Is Ready To Set The Charity Ball Rolling
5Involvement in charitable causes has notably been a thing for the Sussexes. The legal drama star reportedly plans to resume her active participation and contribution to charity organizations in the country. Harry also plans to do the same, resuming a series of charitable activities in his native land.
News outlets reported that Meghan is interested in “rekindling” connections she previously built with various charities in the UK and is also looking into investing in new ones. The Blast shared that one of the organizations she plans to reconnect with is Smart Works.
The mom of two has been supporting the cause since she married Harry in 2018, and the charity has indicated that it is pleased and “very excited to welcome the Duchess and her family back into the UK.”
Smart Works focuses on supporting unemployed women in changing the trajectory of their lives by providing coaching and clothing for job interviews.
Will the atmosphere become more welcoming to Meghan Markle with time?
