A man from Kwara State has challenged Nigerian governors and the President to publicly disclose their statements of account and reveal how much they left behind after leaving office.
Speaking on the issue, the man praised former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate Peter Obi for making his financial records public.
“I’m from Kwara State. I dare any governor in Nigeria, or even the President, to show their statement of account, like Peter Obi did, and tell us how much they left in office. Peter Obi has shown us that he has integrity.” — Man says.
His comments come amid a renewed dispute over the financial position of Anambra State when Obi left office in 2014.
Obi recently released a handover document showing the state’s financial position at the end of his administration, after the Anambra State Government raised claims about loans and other liabilities allegedly inherited from previous administrations.
Social media users subsequently reacted to the man’s comments.
