“They Collected Millions And Ran Away” – Food Company Allegedly Shuts Down After Residents Pay For Cheap Rice, Oil, Spaghetti In Osogbo

• Residents of Osogbo, Osun State, have reportedly raised alarm after a company selling food items at unusually low prices allegedly shut down in the Odi-Olowo area.
• Several customers are said to have paid in advance for packages containing items such as rice, cooking oil, spaghetti and semovita, with reports that some are now demanding refunds.

There is growing concern in Osogbo, Osun State, after a company reportedly selling rice, cooking oil, spaghetti and semovita at unusually low prices allegedly shut down.

According to reports circulating online on Monday, September 28, residents who had paid for food packages before the company’s closure were left seeking answers and refunds.

The business, reportedly located around the Odi-Olowo area, had attracted customers with food items and packages sold at prices said to be significantly lower than prevailing market rates.

Some customers allegedly paid large sums in advance, expecting to receive their food packages.

However, panic reportedly set in after the company suddenly stopped operations.

A viral post claimed that the operators had “collect millions run away,” although the amount allegedly collected and the number of affected customers have not been independently confirmed.

Social media users have since reacted to the development, with several warning Nigerians against making large advance payments because of unusually cheap offers.
