Nigerian singer Fave has opened up about the journey behind her hit collaboration, ‘Kante’, revealing that the song was initially rejected by three different artistes.
According to the singer, she had sent the song to three artistes in hopes of collaborating with them, but none of them was interested in the track.
Fave explained that things changed when Afrobeats superstar Davido reached out to her. She sent him four songs to choose from, and he eventually selected ‘Kante’.
She said Davido’s decision to pick the song ultimately helped turn it into a global hit.
“I sent my song ‘Kante’ to three different artistes, but they said they didn’t like it. When Davido hit me up, I sent him four songs and he picked ‘Kante.’ And it became a global hit” she said
The singer’s revelation highlights how a song that was initially turned down by several artistes eventually found the right collaboration and went on to achieve international recognition.
