A motorcyclist has been k!lled after a tipper truck loaded with sand crashed into him at Ilasa Bus Stop on the Lagos-Mile 2 road Thursday afternoon.
The rider’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
The crash happened around 3:18 p.m. involving tipper truck 19F 992FG and a motorcycle.
Emergency responders from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency arrived at the scene within 15 minutes after receiving the distress call.
A preliminary check showed the tipper driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the motorcycle from behind.
An adult male passenger on the motorcycle d!ed from injuries sustained in the collision.
LASEMA personnel, paramedics, traffic officials and police took control of the scene.
The d£ceased’s body was carefully placed in a body bag by emergency responders and handed over to family members who were at the location.
The damaged tipper truck and motorcycle were towed away to Ilasamaja Police Station to help with investigations.
Traffic flow returned to normal after the operation was completed.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA expressed condolences to the family and urged drivers, especially those operating large trucks, to drive carefully and follow traffic rules.
The Lagos State Government said it remains committed to saving lives and property and will continue providing rapid emergency response across the state.
