The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has taken delivery of three complete sets of dialysis machines donated by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye.
The Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, who received the equipment in Benin on Wednesday, commended the couple for the gesture, saying the donation would significantly complement government investment in healthcare delivery.
The equipment was presented on behalf of His Love Foundation (HLF), the RCCG’s global Christian social responsibility arm, by Pastor Bode Olojede.
Olojede said the donation was made by Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife as part of their continued support for healthcare interventions across the country.
He said HLF was committed to addressing critical social needs, including hunger, healthcare, education, rehabilitation, prison ministry and social enterprise.
According to him, the RCCG general overseer and his wife had supported several national healthcare interventions, including the construction of intensive care units and the establishment of Enoch and Folu Adeboye dialysis centres in teaching hospitals and general medical centres across the country.
Also speaking, the federal commissioner representing Edo State on the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Edoror, commended the Adeboyes for their intervention in supporting patients living with renal challenges.
Edoror, who joined the UBTH management in receiving the equipment, said government could not tackle the challenges in the health sector alone.
He urged other religious leaders and philanthropists across the country to emulate the gesture and support efforts to improve access to quality healthcare.
He expressed appreciation to Pastor Adeboye and his wife for remembering vulnerable patients and prayed for their continued good health and long life.
The donated medical supplies include Nefro 4000 A HD dialysis machines, Nefro Dialyzer 1.8M2, Nefro Universal Bloodline, Nefro Bicarbonate Cartridge, Nefro Acid Concentrate and Nefro Dialysis Fluid Filter.
