Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique says he is not worried despite the club making its worst Ligue 1 start in 19 years.
PSG have collected only two points from their first three league matches of the 2026-27 season.
Their latest setback came against Monaco at the Parc des Princes on September 4.
Marquinhos gave PSG the lead in the first half. However, Nazinho and Stanis Idumbo scored after the break to secure a 2-1 victory for Monaco.
The result left PSG seven points behind the early league leaders.
“There is no reason to be concerned. I say that honestly. How many shots on target did Monaco have? Two. How many goals? Two. We’ll see at the end of the season whether things balance out,” Luis Enrique said.
The Spanish coach believes PSG played better than the result suggests. He praised his players’ pressing and said they were unfortunate to lose.
“Monaco know that if they play against us like this 10 times, we win eight, there’d be one draw and we’d lose once. This was that one defeat,” he added.
PSG’s two points from three matches represent their poorest league start since the 2007-08 season. The club finished 16th that year, only three points above the relegation zone.
Despite the slow start, PSG recently extended Luis Enrique’s contract until 2030.
The French champions will now turn their attention to Europe. They host Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday in their opening Champions League match.
PSG are chasing a third consecutive European title.
