2027: Fintiri inaugurates Adamawa APC campaign council, issues warning

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Thursday inaugurated a campaign council to coordinate the campaigns of all candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Inaugurating the Adamawa APC Campaign Council in Yola, Fintiri warned against anti-party activities, including voting for candidates of other political parties.
Addressing the crowd, made up largely of Adamawa State residents who have consistently voted for their son, Atiku Abubakar, since 1999, Fintiri asserted that anyone who supports a candidate of another party at any level would face the consequences. Atiku is currently the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
“We must close ranks and work as a family,” Fintiri told members of the campaign council gathered at the Government House in Yola.
“All of us must win in our respective local government areas and wards before we can say that we have won,” he added.
He charged council members to ensure the victory of APC candidates “from top to bottom”, warning against cross-party voting or supporting candidates of other parties at any level.
“You either work with us or you are out,” the governor cautioned.
Speaking in a similar vein, the state APC chairman, Hamza Bello Madagali, said no presidential candidate other than President Bola Tinubu should secure 25 per cent of the votes in Adamawa State.
Madagali urged council members to regard their inclusion in the campaign council as a privilege and work hard to ensure the election of APC candidates at all levels across the state.
The Adamawa State APC Campaign Council, which has nearly 3,000 members, is chaired by Governor Fintiri, with his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, serving as deputy chairperson I.
The party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Galadima, is deputy chairman II, while the state party chairman, Hamza Madagali, serves as vice chairman I. The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, is vice chairman II.
The APC governorship running mate, Adamu Kamale, serves as vice chairman III, while Abdulrazak Namdas, a governorship aspirant in the party’s primary, is vice chairman IV.
A top party figure, Solomon Titus, serves as director-general of the campaign.
Speaking on behalf of the council members at the inauguration, Titus assured that the council would work assiduously to ensure the election of APC candidates in 2027.
The inauguration of the Adamawa APC Campaign Council on Thursday came two days after the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in Adamawa State.
