2027:Few things Tinubu needs to do to win the hearts of Nigerian voters

By Yarima Haruna, Kebbi

The anger in the country is glaring over harsh economic situation ,the rich and the poor are directly bearing the brunt of President Tinubu ‘s economic reforms in Nigeria.

The pains began when the president removed fuel subsidy, only then the Nigerian poor class realized  so far is the only thing they are enjoying from government, the removal was hasty according to analyst while some school of thought hailed the president’s courage of removing subsidy.

However,as much as you hate the president and excruciating economic policies one thing no one can take away from Tinubu led government is his intervention in food security every region in Nigeria is enjoying crashed food prices across all markets.

In 2023, Nigerians from the East, South and South bought a bag of rice at one hundred thousand, eighty thousand up north but to call spade a spade recent survey in the north indicated a bag of rice is sold at fourty nine to fifty thousand depending on the brand.

Now let me hit the focal point on what president Tinubu needs to do to please Nigerian voters , public transport is sucking the finances of Nigerians across all classes.

Mister President CNG will not crash high transportation cost due to it high cost and none availability in the country the truth is that compressed natural gas is practically impossible to serve Nigerian vehicles both commercial and private ones.

I can speak the minds of millions of Nigerians who are craving for low transport cost, my suggestion is a good as every commuter in Nigeria that the way out is to holistically and enduringly reduce pump price to least five hundred naira.

Secondly, mister President should open all the land borders to usher in lawful international trade between Niger republic and Benin republic because the closure of the land borders sent millions of Nigerians back to labour markets.

Thirdly, Tinubu should as a matter of urgency end ravaging banditry in the north and elsewhere in the country, frankly escalating unprovoked killings, cattle rustling and rampaging kidnappings is the offence of mister President to northerners, I can tell the president without any contradiction that the north didn’t hate the president because he is Yoruba or a Westerner.

The president should summon same courage of subsidy removal to step on toes to end banditry in the north no one is above the law and a few who are not seen at the polling units should not be allowed to hold over two hundred million Nigerians to ransom.

Achieve these I mentioned above the north and the  entire country is yours mister President, listen to no one just confront the critical issues before you.
