ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has promised to resign from office if Nigerians do not start seeing positive change within one year of an ADC administration.

He said this on Wednesday during an interview, where he named security, education and the economy as the key areas an ADC government would focus on if it wins in 2027.

He said anyone should come to him after one year and he would step down if Nigeria does not begin to change.

Amaechi explained that he is not promising everything will change in a year, but said Nigerians should at least feel a breath of fresh air.

The former Minister of Transportation said all three areas must be fixed for the country to move forward, and that fighting corruption is key to paying for development.

He said the money meant for these sectors is sitting in private pockets, and that once corruption comes down there will be nothing left for anyone to steal.

He also criticised the Tinubu administration over the removal of petrol subsidy, saying it has not improved living conditions for Nigerians.

He questioned where the money spent at social gatherings comes from when poverty and hunger are so widespread.

He added that Nigeria now imports over 46 percent of its finished goods and said the country is in trouble.

Amaechi said he watched people hoot at President Tinubu on his way from the Lagos airport to his residence.

He said that would not happen under an ADC government, because people would be clapping since the party will change Nigeria.
