“I Am Ashamed Of You”- Man Slamms Remi Tinubu Over Appeal For Nigerians To Re-Elect Tinubu

- A young Nigerian man criticized First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for urging support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
- He expressed disappointment in her appeal, questioning its appropriateness given Nigeria’s economic struggles.
- The criticism gained traction through a viral video on social media.
A young Nigerian man has criticised Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, following her reported appeal for Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the man expressed disappointment with the First Lady, questioning why she would encourage Nigerians to give her husband another term amid the economic difficulties and other challenges facing the country.
According to him, rather than asking citizens to support the president’s re-election, Remi Tinubu should be encouraging her husband to address the problems affecting Nigerians and fulfil the promises made by his administration.
Expressing his displeasure, the young man said he was ashamed of the First Lady’s position, arguing that Nigerians had yet to experience the level of prosperity they had been promised.
“I am very, very much ashamed on your behalf because the fact that you are a woman and you are still coming to encourage people to vote for somebody who has been confirmed to be a loser, who has been confirmed to not have anything to offer to Nigerians,” he said.
The man further questioned why the First Lady would campaign for her husband’s return to office when, in his view, the administration had not provided a convincing plan to deliver the promised prosperity.
He also argued that Remi Tinubu should use her position and influence to advise the president on how to improve the country’s situation, particularly as many citizens continue to express concerns about the economy and the rising cost of living.
The young man went on to suggest that the privileges associated with being married to the president might be influencing her stance. He alleged that she was unwilling to challenge her husband or speak against influential individuals within the political establishment.
Calling on the First Lady to acknowledge the difficulties confronting Nigerians, he insisted that she should speak openly about the situation rather than give the impression that everything was going well.
“You know these things, the country is not good, people are suffering. Speak out, nobody will do anything,” he said.
He also referenced the security protection available to the First Lady, arguing that she should feel able to speak publicly about issues affecting ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, meaningful improvements would be possible if people in positions of authority were willing to acknowledge the country’s problems and take steps to address them.
The young man concluded by reminding Remi Tinubu that political positions and privileges are temporary, urging her to reconsider her approach and pay greater attention to the concerns of Nigerians.
