It was a social media scare, Argungu LG Boss dismisses lakurawa invasion of rice mills in Kebbi

The Chairman of Argungu local government area of Kebbi state,Alhaji Aliyu Sani has dismissed as false alarm raised by some social media agents to cause confusion to heighten tension in the local government.

Speaking to our corresspondent over the phone he said there was no invasion of lakurawa terrorist of Wacot rice mills in Argungu local government.

” We visited the area to ascertain the social media post but when we got there everywhere was calm no trace of any attacks or invasion by lakurawa or any armed group around the area” he said.

Corroborating the statement of the local government chairman a resident of the town malam Adamu Lawal told our corresspondent that he didn’t know where such false statements emanated from because he lives around the facility and didn’t see or heard anything of such.

Abubakar Bayawa from Augie town in his reaction stated that there is heavy presence of security personnel at the rice mills since the false post on social media before it was confirmed no such claim to douse tension arising from the fake alarm.

Bayawa added that lakurawa were seen by locals at Bayawa village far from Argungu town where the rice mills is situated passing through with weapons but they didn’t say a word to the villagers.

” The alarm and the claim of invasion of rice mills is false the facility is safe, it was created to raise tensions in the area”.

Meanwhile, normal activities are going on in Argungu town and Wacot rice mills as the claim of invasion is far from the truth.
