Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has broken her silence following the death of her husband and legendary actor, Olu Jacobs.
Silva on Wednesday, September 30, shared photos of herself with her late husband on her social media page, accompanied by love and folded-hands emojis.
The post marked her first public reaction since the family announced Olu Jacobs’ death on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84. His son, Olusoji Jacobs, had announced the death in an Instagram post and asked the public to respect the family’s privacy as they mourned.
Olu Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, was described by his family as the “Lion of Lufodo.” His career spanned more than five decades across theatre, television and film, earning him widespread recognition in Nigeria and beyond.
Following Joke Silva’s post, several actors and entertainers flooded the comment section with condolence messages and words of support.
Among those who reacted were Adesua Etomi, Nancy Isime, Toolz, Ken Erics, Mimi Orjiekwe, Osas Ighodaro, Juliet Ibrahim, Toyin Alausa, Busola Dakolo, Monalisa Chinda, Betty Irabor and Lala Akindoju, who shared love, heart and hug emojis.

The development comes as Nollywood continues to honour Olu Jacobs, whose final burial rites began in Lagos on September 30, with colleagues gathering to pay tribute to the late actor.
