Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo SAN has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of hypocrisy over his criticism of the economy and insecurity.
He made the claim in a post online, on Wednesday.
Keyamo pointed to the liquidation of Nigeria Airways in September 2004 and the unpaid pensions and gratuities of its former workers.
He said the Tinubu government has approved and released N36 billion to pay them, and that some have started getting payment notices.
He said the workers’ union has also thanked Tinubu for the move.
He said it was hypocritical for Atiku to criticise hardship without owning the decisions taken when he was vice president under Olusegun Obasanjo.
He accused Atiku of claiming credit for that government’s record when it suits him and blaming Obasanjo when it does not.
“It’s only the younger ones who don’t know your history you can attempt to hoodwink, but we will expose you to them,” Keyamo wrote.
His remarks came after Atiku urged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and said he would make life affordable and restore security if elected.
He said Tinubu had made life expensive.
