“My Life Is Falling Apart”- Nigerian Woman In UK Speaks Out After Husband Reportedly Withdraws Sponsorship

- A Nigerian woman in the UK is seeking public help after her husband withdrew her immigration sponsorship.
- She has 60 days to find a new sponsor or face deportation to Nigeria.
- The woman shared her situation in a video on social media.
A Nigerian woman residing in the United Kingdom has appealed to the public for assistance after claiming that her husband withdrew her immigration sponsorship, leaving her with 60 days to secure another sponsor or risk returning to Nigeria.
The woman made the appeal in a video circulating on social media, where she disclosed that she had received a notification from the UK Home Office informing her of the deadline.
According to her, the development has left her worried about her future, prompting her to seek help from Nigerians and other individuals who might be able to connect her with a new employer or sponsor willing to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Recounting what happened, the woman alleged that her husband had repeatedly threatened to withdraw his sponsorship before eventually following through with the decision.
“The person I called my husband had been threatening me that he would remove me from his CoS, and he has finally done it,” she said.
She explained that the notification gave her 60 days to find another sponsor, warning that failure to do so could mean leaving the UK.
The woman, who appeared distressed in the video, admitted that she never anticipated finding herself in such a difficult situation.
“At this point, I feel like my life is gradually falling apart because I never expected something like this to happen to me,” she stated.
Making a direct appeal for assistance, she urged anyone who could help her secure alternative sponsorship to come forward. She also indicated that she would be willing to relocate if an opportunity arose elsewhere.
“I only have 60 days. Otherwise, I will have to return to Nigeria, and I don’t want to go back to Nigeria. Please help me,” she added.
Meanwhile, the individual who posted the video online offered a different version of the events that allegedly led to the withdrawal of sponsorship.
According to the post, the woman moved to the UK approximately two years ago. The individual claimed that she later received advice from friends who allegedly suggested that ending her marriage could make her eligible for government assistance while allowing her to remain in the country.
The post further alleged that the woman subsequently informed her husband that she no longer wished to remain married to him and asked him to prepare for a divorce.
According to the account, the husband accepted the proposed separation and later withdrew his sponsorship.
The individual who shared the video claimed that the woman was now searching for another sponsorship opportunity to avoid missing the deadline reportedly communicated by the Home Office.
However, the allegations surrounding the couple’s marriage, the advice reportedly given to the woman and the circumstances behind the sponsorship withdrawal have not been independently verified. The account shared online also does not establish the full details of the couple’s dispute.
The situation has drawn attention to the uncertainty that can arise when a person’s immigration status is linked to another individual’s sponsorship in a foreign country.
