A Nigerian footballer has sparked mixed reactions after calling out a former teammate over their past, including an incident in which the teammate was reportedly selected ahead of him during a football trial.
In a viral account, the footballer spoke about how their relationship allegedly changed after his former teammate became a professional player. His remarks included the question, “Wetin 7 million Naira go do me?”
The comments have generated debate on X, with some users questioning why he would criticise someone who reportedly gave him ₦7 million, while others challenged his account of their history.
One user, Eghosaosere, accused the footballer of making unprovoked claims and questioned aspects of his story, referencing Chidera Ejuke’s career.
Another commenter, AbidoShaker, asked why he would describe the former teammate negatively after receiving ₦7 million from him.
Meanwhile, some users appeared to sympathise with the footballer, while others argued that he should accept the outcome of the opportunity he had missed rather than blame his former teammate.
The discussion has sparked wider debate about friendship, success and how relationships can change when one person achieves professional success.
