The Kano State, APC has rejected claims by Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NDC vice presidential candidate, that it was trying to get its governorship candidate, Governor Abba Yusuf, disqualified.
State chairman Umar Doguwa called the allegation false and baseless.
He said the court case linked to Gwarzo came from a internal crisis within the NDC and was brought by some of its own members.
He said neither the party nor Governor Yusuf nor the state government had any part in it.
Doguwa accused Kwankwaso of trying to drag the APC into his party’s legal problems to hide the troubles inside the NDC.
He asked him to produce proof if he has any.
He also said the courts are independent and cannot be controlled by any party or candidate.
