Kevin Ikeduba Set to Quit Nollywood, Plans Permanent Move to U.S. Over Low Earnings

Popular Nollywood actor Kevin Ikeduba has revealed plans to step away from acting as he prepares to relocate permanently to the United States, citing financial challenges within the Nigerian film industry.
Speaking candidly, the veteran actor disclosed that despite spending over 25 years in Nollywood, the financial returns have not matched public perception. According to him, the industry does not pay as well as many believe, making it difficult for him to sustain the lifestyle he desires.
Ikeduba explained that the move is driven by the need for better opportunities and financial stability. He added that upon relocation, he may consider joining the United States Army if his application is successful, or alternatively secure a well-paying job.
The actor’s revelation has sparked conversations about the economic realities of Nollywood, especially for long-serving actors who, despite fame, struggle with consistent income and financial security.
His planned exit highlights ongoing concerns about remuneration, structure, and sustainability within one of Africa’s largest film industries.
